As some people may know, I'm rather... slow on the update process on here (but I do check my messages almost daily).  My buddy has instructed that I do these meme's. I won't tag people though because I'm self-centered like that... or merciful on anyone I might have tagged... so you're welcome.


1. Do you think I should rewrite my story Graffiti?

   I'm afraid to say that I do not know of your series, but if you're having doubts then maybe experiment to see what works for you?

2. You like my art?

   Some of it is a little random (I live in a glass house, I know). However, if you drew , I like this style quite a bit.

   I like that emote... it makes me a little sad that I cannot make those symbols on my laptop though unless I copy+paste.

4. If you could have anything in the world, what would you have?

   That is a hard question.... any"thing" implies an object so... perhaps a fully paid cabin on a clean lake for my mom? She has always dreamed of having one.

5. Are you awesome?

   Too subjective when you use the slang definition. Do I think I am "awesome" using the dictionary definition? No, not in the slightest.

6. What's your favorite artwork?

   I do not have a particular artwork that I love the most.  It's like asking what my favorite movie is; there are a lot that I like, but equally.

7. Do you like anime?

   I do. I like the "older" series however, such as Yu yu Hakusho, original Hunter x Hunter, Inuyasha, DB, etc.  I have tried to watch some of the newer series these days but for the most part it seems that they either: a) Are too cheesy and stereotypically lacking substance, or b) The animators decided to make up their own ending because they didn't want to do a second season.  Nothing is more depressing than reading a great series and to anticipate the animated release only to have it break your heart since they messed it up (and then the people who ONLY watch the anime say it was amazing... which makes me rage a little if you couldn't tell). For example... Fruits Basket, Inuyasha (before the fans complained and they redid it), Tsubasa R. Chronicles, and Kamisama Hajimemashita. <//3 These days I really have troubles watching anime in fear of it happening to another good series.

   I think the one exception of something I watched recently (it was an animated movie, rather than an anime series), based off of a manga that ACTUALLY followed the manga to a T and perhaps is even better than it was: Ookami Kodomo no Ame.    Isn't he that guy who did that video on the lost episode of Hetalia that grossly detailed a cannibalistic murder plot on Italy?

   Poke'mon. Digimon is such a ripoff. >:



1: If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

   I'm torn about this. Japan looks like such a beautiful place to be but I don't understand the language. Murren, Switzerland was beyond gorgeous and the people are nice and speak English.  However, because of the altitude it was really difficult to move around and would take a long time to go down the mountain to the city. In the end... I'm impartial to my home-state of Minnesota. People may find it boring but I really do love it here. I just wish it was closer to all those fancy anime and gaming conventions.

2: What would you do if your favorite Celebrity came up to you and asked to hide in your house from fans?

   Uhmmm....? I would just point at them (whoever they may be) to the back of the house outside and say "Pfft, no one would look in my old nearly dilapidated kid's playset." I wouldn't trust them in the house.

3: Which is better? Overly salted food or No salt at all?

   No salt, you could always add salt if needed. You cannot undo too much salt.

4: If you could merge two pokemons together and name the new one, who are the pokemons and what is the new creation's name?

   Hmm, that's a tough one.  Probably Smeargle and a Lilligant. Smeargle is pretty cool with its paint brush ability but is a little bland otherwise. Combining it with a Lilligant, which is a gorgeous flower girl poke'mon, would give it a more feminine touch maybe? I dunno. I guess I would call it Paintedlillies... because I'm lame like that. *win*

5: Would you ever harlem shake in public for money?

   To be honest I don't really know what that would entail, so no...?

6: Longest time you have stayed up on the interet at night?

   Once I discovered the internet in middle school, I could easily stay up all night long googling for pictures and posting on anime forums. The longest I've been up because of this was probably around 32 hours maybe?

7: Which would you give up for the rest of your life? Video games? Watching Tv or movies? Or internet? (good luck with that one)

   That's pretty easy... movies. I rarely go see movies. It would be a crying shame to not be able to see Hayao Miyazaki movies anymore though.

8: What are you attracted to that you think others will find WEIRD in a lover?

   Hahahaha. Is it weird to say that I find all real people unattractive? The only "people" I'm attracted to are characters from stories.

9: Did you shower today?

   I did, yes. I had to kill a giant black spider lurking in the shower before I did so though. It was kinda soothing watching it get swept down the drain so I wouldn't have to pick it up.

10: You are upstairs stuck in your room, and Slender Man is down stairs...wtf do you do when you need to get out?

   That's... not even funny. T_T I would cry in a corner and just wait for the inevitable.

   I'm not shocked that Loom hasn't heard about Slenderman since its from a video game. The internet says he's from a mythology but it's just a ruse. For you Loom, Slenderman is the "evil character" in the video game called Slender. The game objective is simple. Collect 8 pages that are hidden around and not get captured by the Slenderman. The main plot concept (that most people forget or didn't know) was that you're trapped in your mind in a coma from "Slender" disease and the "Slenderman" is its physical form that is trying to kill you in your mind. Gathering the 8 pages is equivalent to gathering the different parts of your mind so you could wake up.  In the original variations of the game this becomes slightly creepier in that instead of pages you're trying to find "memento's" of your life and the person you play could range from an adult male prisoner in a prison to a small female child in an elementary school.

   Slenderman is a tall (rarely but sometimes depicted as 8 armed) human lookalike in a black suit... but without a face which glows in the dark.  He is invincible and teleports around instead of walking while you're not looking at him (the newer game versions have him walking or running too even while looking at him). However the longer you look at him the faster he "consumes you" (which is shown by static) and you die. One of the main things that scare people, which is in part what made it so famous, is the music. For example, when the player turns his head around and you end up being in Slenderman's line of sight, you will hear the loud slamming of piano keys. As the game progresses and you collect more pages (or memento's, which in case each memento holds a different value to that persons life) the Slenderman grows increasingly faster and the ambient music becomes more ominous and intense. The beginning of loud THUDS tells the player that Slenderman is coming, almost as if each THUD was a step he was taking. It gets increasingly faster when either too much time has gone by or when those pages are collected.

   The location of where you look for pages varies from game to game. Most people associate it with the original of "Slender's Forest".  This map consists of a giant forest at night in which your only tool is a flashlight. You will find a million different videos on Youtube of people playing this deceptively difficult game. The newest version, that was released very recently by the original creator, has been getting significant bad reviews however. There have been many spinoffs of this game including "SlendyTubbies" (Slender concept but with Teletubbies) etc.

   So how will you answer that question now that you've read this, Loom? Enough to give you nightmares, or do you dare find a video to see what I mean first? >: )

   #1. I love to watch people play horror video games because I'm too much of a coward to actually play them myself.

   #2. I love to play free-to-play MMORPG's.

   #3. My dad makes a game of finding ways to harass the squirrels trying to eat his bird food. For example, putting a cob of corn on a bungee cord hanging from a tree to see it throw the squirrel up and down after it leaped onto it.

   #4. I dislike using the telephone.

   #5. I'm obsessive about taking photographs of flowers.

   #6. I hate coffee. The smell alone gives me a terrible headache.

   #7. I've never eaten a hamburger from McDonald's before.

   #8. I love mice and cats... but terrified by dogs.

   #9. I have never seen the ocean in person.

   #10. I played the flute for 7 years, but originally wanted to go into choir. The middle school had a program where if you started as a band member you could change to a choir member any time, but you couldn't do it the other way around.

   #11. I'm a good swimmer, but I'm petrified by deep or murky water.


1. If you were a vampire in Vampire Fetish what quality of your character would be blown out of proportion/exaggerated? (To catch those of you who don't read up, most VF vampires have some sort of verbal or physical tick, obsession, fetish, insanity, etc.)
   
   Manga.

2. If you were stranded in the woods with a baton and a balloon, what would you do with each?

   Send the balloon up if I see a passing airplane and the baton to swat away at Slenderma... I mean wild animals.

3. You're at a carnival have just won a dart-throwing game. The dealer gives you a can and a can-opener. What's in the can?

   o_O One of those pop-out snakes?

4. What's your favorite card game or book character?

   Card game.... probably Pinocle. Book character would be Kurama from YYH.

5. If you severely injured your leg and a paramedic leaned down and started licking your wounds, what would you do?

   I would say "What are you DOING?!" and would cringe away from them.

Hello! It has certainly been a while since my last update, huh?

I'm doing fairly well right now, and as the title suggests, it was my birthday last week. I know that I keep going on about this but.... my birthday this year was a reminder of how I almost didn't get to have it. I'm so very appreciative of this fact.

It was otherwise, as regular birthdays go, it was a little bit of a disappointment. I baked myself a birthday cake the day after my birthday since my brother was too lazy to do it (even though he said that he would). After it was finished I told him that we'll wait on eating it until after mom got home so I could actually blow out the candles my grandma got me for my birthday. Well long story short, I got home from class to find that 1/5->1/4 of the cake was missing and we ended up not using the candles let alone sing happy birthday. Mom insisted that they were simply too busy to do anything during the week (which I completely understand) and would do a little family celebration or dinner thing on the weekend. Which didn't happen even though nothing was going on.

Kinda makes me feel like a child complaining about this in hindsight. Oh well.

I think what really helped make my day was the great surprise birthday gift I got in the mail by and ~! I really do love it.


As a reminder, although my chemotherapy is already finished, I still have around 4 more years of scans and doctors visits to ensure that I'm still in remission.

I had my most recent scan and appointment since the last time I've updated this journal. Good news is that they still don't see any cancer. The bad news is that my lymph nodes are still larger than they should be but they are still smaller than the last scan. So here is hoping that they continue to shrink back to normal size.

Hello everyone! Sorry for not keeping up to date here, I have been pretty busy with school. First and foremost I wanted to mention that I had my fourth, and hopefully final, surgery last week in relation to my efforts to fight cancer. It is cheaper out-of-pocket to do the process this year in regard to insurance coverage than the reset for next year. The surgery was just to take out the Power Port that was implanted for chemotherapy back in January. This has been weighing on my shoulders for a long time now (since June) and was delayed because I didn't want the surgery while on the blood thinner Warfarin. As of now I am no longer on any medications, anticipating any surgeries, and I'm (as far as I know) cancer free. The next CAT scan and Oncology visit will be in mid-January.

This feeling of calmness is something I haven't felt, or truly appreciated, since before the whole fiasco that was the year 2012.


The last segment leads me to this. Thanksgiving marks the point of one week after I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's in 2011, and I have a lot to be thankful for in this past year.

I want to thank everyone for all the help and support I've received from family, friends, professors, doctors, nurses and even those I have never had the ability to meet in person. If it wasn't for you all, I don't think I would be here right now. It means the world to me to have received the responses I have in the past year. It truly is as my Oncologist stated right at the beginning approximately one year ago today, "This battle is just as much of a mental one as it is a physical one". I was dubious at first, but as time passed, he could not have been more right.
